-Leader in women’s suffragette movement 1930- onwards.

-First woman to lead a Canadian political party (Cooperative Commonwealth Federation- Quebec, 1951-1957).

-Founded  and hosted the radio show Femina, that dealt with women’s issues, rights, and culture. Click here to listen to the archive.

-Appointed to Senate in 1970, but had to retire only 9 months later due to a mandatory retirement age.
